Volunteering is a great way of meeting people, getting to know your neighbours and others in the area, learning new skills – and even putting into practice your own hidden talents and ambitions. Below you will find just some of the ways you could become engaged in the future of the Hall.
Reception: with only two part-time staff, the Trust needs volunteers to come forward to help keep the building open for different activities at certain times of the day and evening.
Refreshments: could you help out making teas and coffees at events or even assist in running the private bar at functions and performances?
Duty management: certain evening events will require extra people to help as stewards, ensuring that the activities do not impact on our neighbours, that the building remains secure and that there is someone on hand to help with any problems.
Maintenance: any building requires ongoing maintenance, from gutter inspection and portable appliance testing to simple repairs and redecoration, not forgetting keeping the outside planted areas trim and cared for.
Survey work: it is part of our capital funding agreement that we carry out a variety of annual surveys to find out how well the Hall is doing in providing community services and a safer environment, and we will need people to help us achieve this.
