To get Clements Hall used as fully as possible, we need to make sure that people know about us.
Event stands: There are often events around the city during the year where local organisations can take a stall and promote themselves to residents in York and surrounding areas. Would you be willing occasionally to run a stand to help people to find out about what we do and what we can offer?
Publicity material distribution: We will sometimes put on events ourselves and will produce posters and flyers to make sure people get to know about them, and we will need volunteers to help get this publicity material put up in shop windows, libraries and businesses as well as being delivered to other visitor attractions in York.
Display material: To make a good impression, we need to create good quality displays. Would you be interested in taking photographs of different events and creating interesting and informative displays for anyone visiting the Hall to enjoy?
Historical research: Clements Hall has a history of providing local community facilities going back nearly 80 years. One of the projects we would like to do is research what the building was like in times gone by. We are looking for volunteers who could research old photographs and images, publicity material, event programmes, newspaper articles, etc, in order to make up both a comprehensive archive and a historical display that could be viewed in the building and also perhaps taken out to be shown at other venues. There might also be an interesting project to capture people’s memories of the Hall through an oral history project.
